Kulau Translator for iPhone

Privacy policy · Last updated 13 September 2026

Kulau Translator for iPhone does not collect any data. Translation runs entirely on your device, the app does not connect to the internet, and nothing you type leaves your phone.

This policy covers the Kulau Translator app for iPhone, which translates between English and Tok Pisin, Bislama and Pijin. The app is made by Raphael Merx.

What the app collects

Nothing. The app does not collect, store on a server, or share any personal data. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it has no accounts or sign-in.

How translation works

The translation model and the dictionaries are built into the app. When you translate a sentence or look up a word, all of the work happens on your iPhone. The app does not connect to the internet for this, or for anything else.

What is stored on your device

The app remembers the language pair you last chose (for example English to Tok Pisin), so it is still selected the next time you open the app. This setting stays on your iPhone and is removed when you delete the app.

The text you type and the translations are not saved. If you tap a copy button, the text is placed on your device's clipboard, the same as copying in any other app.

Permissions

The app does not ask for access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.

Information from Apple

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may share anonymous statistics with the developer, such as crash reports and app usage totals. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and you can turn it off in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Children

Because the app collects no data from anyone, it collects no data from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
