Common questions

Does the app need the internet?

No. The translation model and the dictionaries are built into the app, so it works in flight mode and in places with no signal.

How do I change languages?

Use the language bar at the top of the Translate tab. Pick a language from the menu, and tap the swap button to change the direction.

Why do I sometimes see a dictionary entry instead of a translation?

When you type a single word or short phrase that is in the dictionary, the app shows its dictionary entry. If the word is close to one in the dictionary, it suggests matches you can tap. Type a longer sentence to get a translation.

Can I browse the dictionary?

Yes. The Lexicon tab lists every word for the chosen language, and you can search it.

Does the app collect my data?

No. Nothing you type leaves your phone. See the privacy policy.
